Topamax may interact with certain drugs such as Hydrochlorothiazide, Atropine, Benztropine, Pioglitazone, Methazolamide, Oxybutynin, Amitriptyline, Acetazolamide, Ipratropium, Carbamazepine, Hyoscyamine, Cystospaz, Tiotropium, and Glycopyrrolate.  There may also be other drugs which could interact with Topamax so it is advisable to inform your doctor of any other medication you might be taking including vitamins, over the counter pain killers and herbal products.

What should I avoid while taking Topamax?

Topamax could cause impaired reactions or impaired vision so it is important to take extra care when doing anything that requires full alertness such as driving or operating full machinery. Taking Topamax with alcohol could increase side effects so it is advisable to avoid alcohol.  You should avoid any ketosis or ketogenic diets while taking Topamax as they can increase the chance of kidney stones.
