What to know before taking Levitra?

What is the Levitra dosage?

Your dose of Levitra will be prescribed for you by your doctor according to your specific needs.  Do not take larger doses than what has been prescribed for you.  Do not take the medication for longer than the course which your doctor has prescribed.  The usual dosage for Levitra in adults under the age of 65, is 10mg in a 24hour period, one hour before engaging in sexual activity.  Adults over the age of 65 are given a dose of 5mg in a 24hour period, one hour before engaging in sexual activity. Levitra should be taken with water either with or without food. Levitra should not be taken more than once each day.

What are the Levitra interactions?

Levitra has been known to interact with certain medications including Diclofenac, Isoniazid, Conivaptan, Imatinib, Nefazodone, Nitroglycerin, Clotrimazole, Tamsulosin, Quinidine, Procainamide, Nicardipine, Isosorbide Mononitrate or .  It is important to tell your doctor about any other medications you are taking even, pain killers, vitamins or supplements or herbal medications as these could also interact with Levitra.

What should I avoid while taking Levitra?

It is advisable to avoid alcohol when taking Levitra in order to reduce the risk of some side effects.  Grapefruit products should be avoided while taking Levitra as they can interact together.
