Certain drugs may interact with Lipitor including Gemfibrozil, Indinavir, Itraconazole, Fluconazole, Niacin, Clofibrate, Digoxin, Clarithromycin and Sirolimus.  Some other drugs may also interact with Lipitor so it is important to advise your doctor of any other products you might be taking including herbal medication, over the counter pain killers and vitamins or supplements.

What should I avoid while taking Lipitor?

You should avoid eating any food that is high in cholesterol or fat as they will lessen the effectivness of Lipitor.  Alcohol an increase levels of triglycerides and can damage your liver if consumed while taking Lipitor so it should be avoided.  Grapefruit products should be avoided while taking Lipitor as they can interact together and cause serious side effects.
